Congratulations to Bill Reed Voice Studio's very own Lyla Trigaux who is playing Dorothy in Lyric Theatre's spring production of "The Wizard of Oz."

"The Wizard of Oz was one of my favorite movies growing up, so getting to play Dorothy has been amazing. As always with Lyric shows, the whole cast, creative team and crew are awesome, and it's great to work alongside actors of all ages. I can't wait to bring it to the Flynn in April, but I also want the experience not to end!"

You can see Lyla as Dorothy April 11-14 at the Flynn. Tickets are currently on sale through the Flynn Box Office.

BRVS Alumni Brings "Bright Star" to Shelburne VT

Monday, August 22, 2022 by Bill Reed | Events

Enjoy a Broadway-style concert of the musical “Bright Star” in the historic Shelburne Town Hall on Saturday August 27th at 7pm or Sunday August 28th at 3pm.

Inspired by a true story and featuring the Tony®-nominated score by Steve Martin and Edie Brickell, Broadway’s BRIGHT STAR tells a sweeping tale of love and redemption set against the rich backdrop of the American South in the 1920s and ’40s. When literary editor Alice Murphy meets a young soldier just home from World War II, he awakens her longing for the child she once lost. Haunted by their unique connection, Alice sets out on a journey to understand her past—and what she finds has the power to transform both of their lives. With beautiful melodies and powerfully moving characters, the story unfolds as a rich tapestry of deep emotion. An uplifting theatrical journey that holds you tightly in its grasp, BRIGHT STAR is as refreshingly genuine as it is daringly hopeful.

New Charlotte residents, Brad and Melissa Coolidge, are joined by professionals from VT, NYC, and the Berkshires to share this bluegrass musical written by Steve Martin and Edie Brickell with toe-tapping live accompaniment on fiddle, banjo, and piano. Based on true events, this unbelievable story will leave you filled with hope and a belief that “The Sun is (Always) Gonna Shine Again.”
