Philosophy on Teaching

When a student comes into my studio, whether for the first time or after many years of working together, I am reminded of the wonder of our very existence, and the power of the voice to express our humanity. Each of us has unique potential as storytellers through song, and I have dedicated my professional life to guiding singers on their journey to becoming compelling performing artists.

To achieve this goal, I have developed a program based on voice science, educational psychology, deep listening, vision, humor and many decades of experience. The result is a suite of offerings to accommodate the needs of singers interested in a wide variety of musical styles. Students interested in developing their skills as classical singers, musical theater performers, jazz, pop, folk artists, singer/songwriters or spoken voice actors, will find both training and performing opportunities in the BRVS program.
